Bespoke Bathroom Vanity Units for Character Homes

Every piece I create at Bloxholm Bespoke is made to order. I specialise in bespoke bathroom vanity units crafted from carefully selected antique furniture, adapted for modern bathroom use while retaining their original character and proportions.

This approach is suited to period homes, cottages, barn conversions, and properties where standard, mass-produced furniture feels out of place.

What I Make

  • Bespoke bathroom vanity units

  • Single or double basin configurations

  • Units crafted from antique furniture

  • Quartz worktops

  • Traditional and character-led designs

Each piece is designed around your space and requirements rather than adapted from a fixed template.

How the Process Works

1. Initial Enquiry

You get in touch with a brief description of your project. Approximate dimensions, photos of the space, or inspiration images are always helpful, but not essential.

2. Design & Specification

Once we’ve discussed the layout, style, and practical requirements, I’ll advise on a suitable starting piece and finalise the design details — proportions, basin choice, worktop, and plumbing considerations.

3. Confirmation & Deposit

When the design and quote are agreed, a deposit (usually 40%) secures the unit and confirms your place in the build schedule.

4. Craft & Preparation

The antique piece is stripped back, assessed, stabilised where required, and carefully prepared for bathroom use using appropriate finishes and materials.

5. Completion

The finished unit is supplied ready for professional installation. Photo updates are shared throughout the build so you can follow the process.

Working with Antique Furniture

Not all antique furniture is suitable for bathroom use. Each piece is carefully assessed before work begins to ensure it will remain solid and perform well long-term.

Preparation is key — from stripping back old finishes to selecting products that protect the timber without compromising its natural appearance. Natural character marks and variations are part of what make each piece unique.

Pricing & Lead Times

As every piece is made to order, pricing varies significantly depending on specification — including the starting unit, overall size, basin and tap selection, worktop choice, and the level of restoration required.

Typical projects start from £4,000
Lead times are usually 6-8 weeks from deposit confirmation.

Delivery is either carried out personally by me or arranged through my trusted courier, depending on location and suitability. This is included within the quoted price.

I’m always happy to advise early on whether a project is likely to suit your budget before anything is committed.

Installation

Units are supplied ready for installation. Plumbing, sealing, and fitting should be carried out by a qualified professional. I’m happy to liaise with installers if any questions arise during the process.
